It’s All Illusions Tim

I reread Illusions by Richard Bach. My last time spent with that book was over thirty years ago. Needless to say a lot has changed but some things haven’t. The timeless message of our control over reality remains the same. Not all reality of course, but the nuanced reality closest to our spirit is maleable, you change reality.

The copy I pulled off of the bookshelf, a hardback copy missing its dust cover, was first spotted at the Miami Book Fair in the mid to late 90s. It was in a stack on the actual street pavement, a travisty for sure. So I rescued the book.

Now I had read a paperback copy a couple of time starting at around age 19. My life seemed an echo of Bach’s as I read through his books. He flew old biplanes, I drove a ’72 VW Bus. Richard seemed troubled by the same deep questions of reason and purpose to our lives. And while I was reading One I met a soulmate, even as I was in a dying long term relationship.

A lot has happened. I forgot the truth of Illusions. Marriage and a large family required a different energy, but now that time is passing much how my life with Ona was passing when I met Melissa.

Now I’m not leaving my wife or alienating our children just yet, but the wind has shifted.

One last odd note before I go on to my next task. Towards the back of the book I found a parking ticket stub for a hockey game. It was the game seven Kelly Cup final in Biloxi. We drove to that game from Tallahassee without tickets. The game was sold out. But Fate was on our side and we scored some tickets. We witnessed a late double overtime winner from the home team, the side we were cheering for. It was magical.

Well this is awkward because this is where you find out I’m a liar because I do have one last thing to say about that trip. The memory is fuzzy but this may have been the trip Melissa met Mark and me at the hotel in Mississippi. She had travelled the day previous with Dana. Turns out Melissa was cheating on me with a married couple in Louisiana. She probably had that guy’s cum in her when I kissed her hello.

Women are bitches. Fun at times, but bitches.

The Proof is a Poke Away

I’ve long talked with two different business partners about that metaphysical connection between doing something forward-thinking and getting new customer. It’s happened again and I’m waiting on my wife to acknowledge that I’m right as rain on this. She won’t. I only do what Jesus proved.

Here is a Steve Jobs video that I come back to time and again:

Dare to poke.

The Seven Hermetic Principles

The Severn Hermetic Principles:

  • The Principle of Mentalism
    • The All (God, The Unformed Substance) is Mind; the Universe is Mental.
    • We are an avatar in a virtual reality.
    • What you think about comes about.
    • The All thinks Creation into being, including us.
  • The Principle of Correspondence
    • As above, so below; as below, so above.
    • Everything is fractal
  • The Principle of Vibration
    • Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.
  • The Principle of Polarity
    • Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites.
    • Hot/Cold
  • The Principle of Rhythm
    • Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall.
    • Cyclical nature of reality
    • Pendulum-like swing
  • The Principle of Cause and Effect
    • Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause.
    • Nothing happens by chance
  • The Principle of Gender
    • Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles.
    • Masculine and feminine aspects are present in all things.

New High Score

3500 in 31 months ago is worth 5114 today. That’s a 68% upside that equals an extra 52 per month. You know you’d pick that up off the ground if you saw it. I just click buttons.

Relicensed

Got my massage license back or rather I had a new one issued. I’m no longer MA32604 but rather MA104441. I get a reboot. This time it’s the Lord’s idea. I heard HIs voice clear as a bell to get the license back. That was about three weeks ago and here I am. I am grateful for this second chance and all of the opportunities this presents.

Arise and Build

I remember the day I heard this sermon. Not the date but the day. I know where I was when I first heard Nehemiah 2:20.
“…The God of heaven, He will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build…” KJV Nehemiah 2:20
It’s been about ten years since I heard Adrian Rogers preach on this bit of scripture. Since then I have read The Book of Nehemiah twice and have referred to this “Arise and Build” many times. It’s like a battle cry. The Lord is on my side. He’s already blessed me so I ought to do the work.
Here is Adrian Rogers’ sermon that changed my life, part 1:

May the Lord call you and bless you.

King Asa

I’ve committed to finishing my second cover to cover read of The Bible. My daily reading consists of Psalms and Proverbs along with the random plan. This morning after my routine reading I wanted to put the Good Book down but something tugged at me. Persevering, I was treated to the story of King Asa.

Now King Asa did all that was right in the eyes of the Lord, a relief in and of itself, and lived in peace. You know this part of the story is filled with good Kings and bad Kings so with King Asa turning his heart to God everything seems cool. But there is a reason we are given Asa’s story.

It turns out that towards the end of his reign the King turned away from God when God had always delivered the goods. I did a double-take. and reread the scripture.

I got the message right away. I won’t spoil it for you, but I got it. In that extra effort with the Word today God spoke to me. Thank you Lord for not letting me give up this morning.

Read your Bible.
